Feedback on improving our duet peice and pieces from overdrive for Contemporary Dance

In our Contemporary Dance class we have been working on pieces from overdrive and our duets that contain mainly moves from the pieces we learnt from overdrive. When we are rehearsing our duets we then were paired up with another duet so that we could collide our pieces for example travelling through the other duets piece when performing our own piece. Tuesday lesson was about making more stronger then showing back to the class so that we could get feedback from our class mates and teacher.
The feedback that my group got back from the class was that it was good how we all travelled through each others piece but we needed more space between each other because the other duet needed more space to travel through without hitting the others, the feedback that me and my partner got back was that we had to know each others more and focus on ourselves more, the feedback that the other duet got who was in our group was that they had to add on more to there piece as it was to short and my partner and I still went on.

The feedback I got back from Dominique (teacher) was that I need to make my angles sharper.

My feedback for myself is that I need to improve on using more space by making my moves more bigger and stronger, focus more on my self  then on my partner and learn my partners routine and remember it.

  1. Good summary Courtney, could you begin to use more dance language in your next blog? Foot work? Alignment? Turn Out? Timing? Spacing?
